Because we never waste a crisis you’ve got one more day for BIDEM 2020!

The  programme committee, BIDEM 2020 Caribbean Diaspora Entrepreneurs’  Development Conference and Trade Show is seeking practitioners, consultants, researchers, and experts in departments of government for our pre-conference “Masterclass and capacity building” workshops as well as breakout conference sessions.  The Masterclasses will be delivered online for 2- 5 days leading up to Conference.   BIDEM 2020 will be held October 13-15, 2020.

The event organizers are deliberate in bringing to attendees a broad multi-track event.  It is expected that presenters will bring experience from the fields, novel and emergent research, thought leadership, case studies and examples of what works and why; as well as what has failed and why.

PURPOSE

The event is organized to accelerate the reduction of the entrepreneurial skills gap faced by Caribbean Immigrant Entrepreneurs in Canada and other Caribbean diasporic markets; Canadians with no history of business in the family; entrepreneurs of African descendent and other immigrants who face similar challenges, in particular non-native speakers of English.

The skills gap include the barriers of foreignness, lack of trust, access to capital, sparse networks and lack of experience growing big businesses.  There are also barriers related how women think and do business versus men, and lack of market intelligence all of which will be addressed by the event.

This edition will also address the COVID 19 pandemic and resilience building.
